Lo Noi Del Sac

Lo Noi del Sac is one of the most distinctive and personal wines from Celler Pascona. Its name, meaning “the sack boy” in Catalan, refers to the folkloric figure of the sack man, a character from Catalan childhood legends. Within the winery, this wine and María Ganxa belong to the “wines of legend” collection, created to surprise, break rules, and leave a lasting impression.
This white wine made from Merlot is a rarity in Montsant. It has color, texture, and above all, a strong identity. It is fresh and tannin-free yet offers volume and tension. PRODUCTION METHOD
Lo Noi del Sac is made from 100% Merlot grown on clay soils, a true rarity in Montsant for a white wine. Grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and gently pressed to obtain the purest juice. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve freshness and aromatics. Minimal filtration is used, and no active carbon is applied, ensuring that the wine retains its authentic color and character. This natural approach means that in particularly warm and dry years, the wine may show a delicate pinkish reflection.

TASTING NOTE
Brilliant pale color with amber hints and, in certain vintages, a faint rosé tone. The nose blends ripe white fruit, melon, and gentle honey with a subtle mineral note. The palate is silky and enveloping, with refreshing acidity and an elegant, clean finish.
