The name “Mar de Batea” evokes both the inland town of Batea in Terra Alta and the sea where this wine completes its aging, creating a symbolic bridge between vineyard and coastline.

Crafted from carefully selected vineyards in Terra Alta, where Garnacha Blanca reaches its finest expression, the wine begins with precise vinification designed to preserve freshness and aromatic character. Its true singularity, however, emerges during aging. For six months, the bottles rest in the depths of the Mediterranean Sea, near the Ebre Delta, at a depth of 20 metres.

Beneath the surface, constant temperatures, gentle water movement, and natural pressure create a unique refinement chamber. This slow and silent maturation enhances structure, softens sharper edges, and imparts a distinctive minerality that cannot be replicated on land.

The result is a white wine that is fresh, vibrant, and elegant. Notes of citrus and white fruit mingle with subtle floral hints. PRODUCTION METHOD
Mar de Batea Blanc is made from 100% Garnacha Blanca, sourced from carefully selected vineyards in Terra Alta. The grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness to achieve aromatic intensity and balanced acidity. After gentle pressing, the must is clarified at low temperature to preserve freshness. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under controlled conditions to capture the varietal’s purity. Once vinified, the wine undergoes a unique aging process: six months at a depth of 20 metres in the Mediterranean Sea. This environment offers constant temperature, gentle movement, and natural pressure, creating conditions that cannot be replicated on land.

Aged for six months at 20 metres below the surface of the Mediterranean Sea, developing complexity, refined texture, and maritime nuances.
TASTING NOTE
Bright pale yellow with green highlights. The nose combines citrus and stone fruit with subtle floral and saline notes. On the palate, it is fresh yet rounded, with flavours of ripe peach, lemon zest, and a delicate mineral edge. The finish is long, harmonious, and marked by a gentle maritime influence.
