Terra Ferma Negre

Terra Ferma Negre embodies the spirit of Costers del Segre, a denomination marked by continental climate and diverse soils. In L’Albagés, the vineyards grow between 420 and 500 meters of altitude. The shallow calcareous soils, with layers of clay and sandstone, challenge the vines and limit yields. The composition brings together Garnacha Negra, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Garnacha provides fruit and warmth. Cabernet contributes backbone, tannins and structure. Syrah adds depth, color and a subtle spicy note. Fermentation in stainless steel preserves purity and freshness. Meanwhile, gentle maceration and natural stabilization maintain balance and honesty. This approach gives the wine a style that is powerful yet approachable.

PRODUCTION METHOD
Terra Ferma Negre is made from Garnacha Negra, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, grown in L’Albagés (Les Garrigues, Lleida). The vineyards were planted between 2005 and 2010, trained on traditional trellises with double Royat cordon. They lie at 420 to 500 meters of altitude on shallow, poor soils that are very calcareous, with clay, sandstone and marl typical of the Ebro depression.The grapes are harvested mechanically at dawn to preserve freshness and avoid oxidation. Once in the winery, they are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures between 22 and 26 ºC, depending on the parcel and variety. Maceration lasts 10 to 15 days, with remontage used for gentle extraction of color, tannins and aromas. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel. After fermentation, the wine undergoes natural cold stabilization during winter, followed by light clarification and gentle filtration before bottling.
AGING
Bottled young after a short resting period in stainless steel, preserving varietal purity and freshness.
TASTING NOTE
Terra Ferma Negre presents a deep, bright garnet-red color. The nose is intense and complex, with ripe black fruit, sweet spice and a subtle mineral note. On the palate it is expressive and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and an excellent balance between freshness and structure. The finish is long and persistent.
