Surrealista Blanc Brisat Natural

Surrealista Blanc Brisat is more than a wine: it is the revival of an ancient method that today is known worldwide as orange wine. In Empordà, this technique is called brisat, a style obtained by fermenting white grapes with their skins. The result is an amber-colored wine with structure, character and an honest reflection of the land. Made entirely from Lledoner Blanc, the traditional local name for Garnacha Blanca, this cuvée highlights one of the region’s most emblematic varieties. The slate soils and the Tramuntana wind shape grapes with minerality and freshness, which are expressed with authenticity in every bottle.

Manual harvest, skin fermentation with native yeasts, no sulfites added and only the gentlest filtration. This minimal-intervention philosophy respects both grape and place. After fermentation, the wine rests on fine lees for a month, with regular stirring to enrich texture and aromatic complexity. As a result, Surrealista Blanc Brisat offers balance between freshness, volume and structure, while remaining a natural and unadulterated expression of Empordà.

The name Surrealista connects this wine with the cultural heritage of the region, the same Empordà light that inspired Salvador Dalí. Just as surrealism blurred the line between dream and reality, this orange wine blurs the boundaries between white and red styles, offering a new dimension of taste. Thanks to its structure and subtle tannins, it is perfect for pairing with spiced vegetable dishes, tajines, matured cheeses, mountain rice with mushrooms or baked fish. With only 1,500 bottles produced, Surrealista Blanc Brisat is a rare opportunity to experience Empordà through the lens of a natural orange wine.

PRODUCTION METHOD
Surrealista Blanc Brisat is crafted from 100% Lledoner Blanc, the Empordà name for Garnacha Blanca. The grapes, from vines aged 20 to 40 years and rooted in slate soils, are harvested by hand and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place with full skin contact for about two weeks, following the ancestral brisat method, equivalent to what today is internationally called orange wine. Native yeasts initiate the process naturally, preserving the identity of the vineyard. Before bottling, only a very light filtration is applied, and no sulfites are added at any stage, keeping the wine pure and expressive.
AGING
One month on its fine lees with bâtonnage every three days, giving extra aromatic complexity, texture and volume.
TASTING NOTE
Amber with golden and orange highlights, luminous and elegant. The nose reveals aromas of candied orange peel, dried flowers such as chamomile and lavender, stone fruits like peach and apricot, fine spices and hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is broad and dry, with delicate tannins typical of orange wines. It shows silky texture, vibrant freshness, and a long finish with subtle bitterness and saline notes that recall its Empordà origin.
